Rising Star Cowater Unveils Debut EP “101”

Hailing from Warri, Delta State, and now making waves in the bustling metropolis of Lagos, Cowater (born Fidelis Ogbe) is a rising star in the world of Afro-Fusion. Driven by a deep love for music that emerged in his youth, Cowater’s journey began as a personal quest for solace and self-expression.

Cowater’s debut EP, “101”, represents a fusion of Afrofusion, and storytelling. Across six tracks, he bridges genres, each song embodying a new facet of his skills.

“101” also showcases Cowater’s unique approach to sound as he collaborates with renowned instrumentalists like Newtown Spice on guitar and T Drums on the talking drum. Tracks such as “Gaou” mix Amapiano, Fuji, Makossa, and Afrobeats into a lively rhythm, while “Jovwo” presents a softer, romantic side, illustrating his ability to tap into his emotions. “Rihana” shifts the tempo with upbeat, and “Smooth Criminal” brings a relaxed sophistication.

The EP closes with “Jah II,” merging gospel influences with Afrobeat, embodying themes of youth and spirituality—a fitting end to this debut project that signals Cowater’s growing prominence in the Afro-Fusion scene.
